With Destiny 2 Just around the corner, we have some new details about the newest Destiny 2 Raid, a new exotic pulse rifle & some details about Destiny 2 leaked by a polish gamer.
The first details we have about the Destiny 2 Leviathan Raid come from a leaked trophy list revealing a trophy called “Belly of the Beast”. Oh, and if you’re not aware a Leviathan is a biblical sea monster that swallowed up whole ships, but in the case planets! (we’ll explain below).
Now that’s not all we also have some concept art that was revealed during the installation of Destiny 2 that shows this massive creature that appears to have a city on its head devouring a whole planet. This could have been anything if not for a recent update to the concept art that appears to show a guardians ship flying towards the planet that’s about the be devoured by the Leviathan.
Check out the Destiny 2 Leviathan Concept art below:
Concept art update on Bungie.net:
In deeper into the Raid theory hole we go! Luke Smith wore a hoodie that had a triangle symbol on it during a reveal event. No one really knew what it meant until you check out and compare it with the Icon from the leaked trophy and then with the concept art for the possible Destiny 2 Leviathan Raid.
Now beyond just knowing that the Leviathan is a biblical sea creature we do know it has some ties to Destiny lore. Deep down in the home world of the Krill AKA (Hive) called Fundament there existed a creature known as the Leviathan who guarded the way into the darkness or Core of the planet. He confronted the 3 sisters who would eventually become the hive and tried to convince them to go back to the surface and not give into the darkness. The sisters eventually discovered the Worm Gods deep in the planet’s core and merged with them to become powerful.
The Leviathan was a disciple or student of the traveler who resided next to one of Fundaments 52 moons. After the 3 sisters took power and conquered Fundament they proceeded to the moon closest to the traveler that was home to a people who lived in the light of the traveler and its power. They defeated the Hive and were able to continue protecting the traveler.
The Leviathan tried to escape Fundament and go to the traveler but never made it and was eventually killed and consumed by the sisters and the dark Worm Gods.
We are not exactly sure if this will be the same Leviathan that has to do with the Raids name or if some how Leviathan was able to come back to life in some for or another larger Leviathan.

Check out the screen shot from some game footage below that seems to show an Osiris Themed pulse rifle. The rifle has some unique features for the class including the ability to fire 5 rounds per pulse vs. the traditional 3 rounds. Also, there is a beetle meter that appears in the cross hairs on the weapon and fills as you kill.
