German actor Falk Hentschel has been cast to play Carter Hall – also known as Hawkman – in an Arrow/Flash crossover arc, before joining DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
The actor is probably best known for his work on Knight and Day (2010, starring Tom Cruise), White House Down (2013, starring Channing Tatum), and Transcendence (2014, starring Johnny Depp), and even made an appearance on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Marcus Scarlotti.
Legends of Tomorrow is set to debut in 2016. The series is being developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Marc Guggenheim, who also worked on Arrow, The Flash, and the upcoming Supergirl, set to debut on October 26, 2015.
Many of the actors and actresses who have appeared in both Arrow and The Flash will carry their characters over to Legends of Tomorrow, bringing a much-needed and long-awaited coherence to the DC Universe. The cast includes Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein/Firestorm, Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/The Atom, and Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance/Black Canary.
As for Hentschel, he follows in the footsteps of such actors as Bill Nuckols (Legends of the Superheroes) and Michael Shanks (Smallville). What do you think he’ll bring to the table as the new Carter Hall?
