It’s been three years since NetherRealm Studios developed Mortal Kombat, their reboot of the bloody and brutal video game franchise series created by Ed Boon and John Tobias.

Today, Warner Bros. Interactive released the trailer (below) to the new Mortal Kombat X, which features a new song by rapper Wiz Khalifa called “Can’t Be Stopped.” The trailer portrays a showdown between Sub-Zero and Scorpion against the backdrop of a snowy wilderness. While the trailer may not show actual gameplay footage, it looks like the franchise will be sticking to their user-friendly 2D fighting plane, with tons of gruesome special moves and epic fatalities for gamers and fans to look forward to.

Mortal Kombat X will be debuted at the E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo next week, and will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PS3 sometime in 2015.
