Marvel is aggressively rebranding the gaming avenue of their superhero conglomerate and have announced a new alliance with developer Square Enix for a new game centered on Earth’s Mightiest, The Avengers.

Best known for their Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series, the developer is no stranger to the world of superheroes, with games such as Batman: Arkham Asylum and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 under their belt.

A statement from Jay Ong, Senior VP of Games and Innovation at Marvel Enterprises, via press release, is as follows:

The Avengers project is a perfect example of how Marvel is making games a key part of the landscape for Marvel storytelling, alongside comics, television and film. We can only do this by matching our greatest Super Heroes with the world’s top developers, such as the creative minds at Square Enix.

Accompanying the announcement was a teaser trailer, which you can check out below:

Not much else has been revealed about the project, but fans can expect much more in 2018 since Marvel plans to release many games, attempting to expand their 3D library.

The news comes just days after production of, the highly anticipated, Avengers: Infinity War has begun. The third installment of the billion dollar franchise will see most of our beloved heroes from Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) to the more recently introduced Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) assemble to defeat the Mad Titan Thanos (Josh Brolin) in his quest to conquer the coveted Infinity Stones.

The film will be shot back-to-back with the untitled Avengers 4, releasing on May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019, respectively.

Also, officially filming is Ryan Coogler’s upcoming Black Panther. Reprising his role from Captain America: Civil War, Chadwick Boseman will again don the vibranium-laced suit as he takes on Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), a rival who plans to overthrow T’Challa’s kingdom in the advanced nation of Wakanda. The film is to hit theaters on February 16, 2018.

More information is sure to come.
