SCENE: Somewhere in the park, in the India narrative
The episode begins with two guests falling for each other in an India-themed park. After determining that they are both humans and not hosts, they head to a tiger hunt. Once at the basecamp for the hunt, the female guest realizes that something is wrong. One of the Indian hosts kills her new lover, and she gets pursued by a tiger. The woman runs out of the park limits, only to be caught between a steep cliff and the tiger, who eventually pounces.
SCENE: Outside Westworld Mesa Hub
The recon team, with Bernard, heads back to the Westworld Mesa Hub after learning “it’s a slaughterhouse.” There they find Charlotte Hale, who confronts Bernard and asks why he hasn’t been able to capture Peter Abernathy.
SCENE: Somewhere in the park, at the beginning of the uprising
Hale and Bernard see outlaws rounding up a group of 10 hostages. One of the outlaws is the Peter Abernathy host. Hale and Bernard lure the leader of the outlaws away from the group, knock him out, cut him open, and rewire him so that he’s morally upstanding, but also a sharpshooter. He confronts and takes out his own lackeys, then frees the hostages. Hale and Bernard successfully get Peter Abernathy’s attention, but Abernathy malfunctions, attracting the Confederados. Hale makes a getaway on a horse, leaving Bernard and Peter with the Confederados.
SCENE: Fort Forlorn Hope
Dolores arrives at Fort Forlorn Hope and introduces herself as Wyatt. She warns the Confederado of a new enemy coming. When challenged by the General, her posse of hosts emerges from the brush and brings out the human hostages. They arm the General with a human machine gun and release one of the human guests, then allow the General to shoot him down, to demonstrate its power. The Confederado accept Dolores and her group, execute the hostages, and prepare for the attack.
SCENE: Somewhere in the park
Maeve and Hector are being led through the park by Lee Sizemore. They encounter a Lakotan host, whom Maeve recognizes from a memory of having to defend her daughter. More Lakota emerge and encroach upon them. They make a run for it, looking for an elevator. The elevator submerges into the ground just in time.
SCENE: Fort Forlorn Hope
The Confederados from the earlier scene with Hale and Bernard produce Peter Abernathy as a hostage. Dolores recognizes him as the host that plays her father. The Confederados begin to torture him, but Dolores intercepts. Dolores goes to talk to Peter as he recovers in a tent, and finds out that he has malfunctioned.
SCENE: Westworld Mesa Hub
Maeve tells Hector of her plans for them to be together in the real world, but Lee tells them that they’re designed to be alone. He reminds Hector that he was designed to be in love with Isabella, not Maeve. Meanwhile, Maeve tries to psychoanalyze Lee, surmising that Isabella is a woman that he was romantically involved with in the real world, and that Hector is a proxy for himself, and that Isabella was killed off in Westworld for a reason.
SCENE: Fort Forlorn Hope
Dolores finds Bernard. She compares the host Bernard to his real-life proxy, Arnold. She asks for Bernard’s help in fixing Peter Abernathy. Bernard asks Dolores what she wants, and she replied “to dominate this world,” to which Bernard replies “this world is just a speck of dust sitting on a much, much bigger world.” Dolores then realizes that Bernard has never been outside the park, but she has, via Arnold.
SCENE: Westworld Mesa Hub
Maeve, Hector, and Lee hear gunfire at the end of a long corridor and see a person on fire at the end of another. Armistice emerges with a flamethrower gun. They follow her, and Maeve recognizes body shop technician Felix along the way. Sylvester is seen also tied up, preventing a grenade tucked under his chin from going off. Armistice puts a pin back in the grenade and they move on.
SCENE: Fort Forlorn Hope
Bernard has examined Peter Abernathy and determined that he has been bouncing between old roles due to some technical tampering that appears to be an attempt at hiding a large file within his programming. Bernard warns Dolores that as long as Peter is with her, the humans will be pursuing her.
SCENE: Westworld Mesa Hub
Hale approaches a squad of QA soldiers about the embark on a park-wide sweep. She takes a small team on a separate mission into Sector 21.
SCENE: Fort Forlorn Hope
Confederado scouts return to Fort Forlorn Hope talking of the enemy “coming up from the ground.” The Commander informs Dolores that the field is mined, and the trigger is at the base of the flagpole, but Dolores wants them within charging range of the barricades. Meanwhile, Bernard is still trying to figure out what’s wrong with Abernathy. He finally succeeds in accessing the encrypted file. The QA soldiers approach with heavy firepower, accompanied by Charlotte Hale. The Confederado are quickly losing the battle, and two QA agents successfully capture and extract Peter Abernathy. As Dolores’ team abandons the frontline and retreats to inside the walls, Dolores spots Peter being taken away. She pursues the QA agents, who load Peter into Hale’s combat vehicle. Dolores commands her horde to split into two groups to find Peter, while she and Teddy head to Sweetwater. The Confederado finally retreat, but their own doors are closed on them by Dolores’ group. Dolores’ group then fires shots from within at the group of Confederados clamoring at the gates. Finally, Angela detonates the mines and destroys the rest of the soldiers. Bernard tries to escape, but is injured, and encounters Clementines, who knocks him out with her gun.
The remaining Confederados are ordered to be executed. The General calls Teddy pathetic for being so loyal to Dolores. Teddy lets the General and his soldiers go, not knowing that Dolores is watching in the background.
SCENE: Somewhere in the park
We see the woman from the beginning of the episode crawl to shore, where she is confronted by 3 of the Lakota.
SCENE: Somewhere in the park
Maeve, Hector, Armistice, Lee, Felix, and Sylvester are seen trudging through the north side of the park, near the Klondike narrative, making them three or four sectors east of the homestead. They see a campfire in the woods and head towards it. Lee spots something in the snow and discovers that it is a severed head. The episode ends with a samurai bearing his sword and charging at Maeve.
